a montville wedding

Well well, haven’t I been a bit quiet on the blogging front lately?! Life has kind of gotten in the way, as I’ve had two fairly major (and absolutely wonderful) things happen during the first half of 2013 – I’ve moved from the city to the country and…I got married! I am now a Mrs and my wedding was the most amazing day of my life – the day after our wedding I said to my new husband, ‘Can we do it again next weekend?!’, it was just so much fun and so lovely to be surrounded by our most favourite people in the world. I’ve included a few photos of the day below, including the favours I made for my guests, because that’s what you’re all dying to see right?! Our photographer was the wonderful Anna of Sweet Hope Photography, who was just everything we could want in a wedding photographer and so much more – she is an absolute delight! We are lucky enough to be able to say that every other vendor we worked with on our wedding was equally as wonderful, and I’ll post about them in more detail once I can get my hands on more photographs!

The Vintage and Handmade Bride {Toowoomba Showcase}

The Vintage and Handmade Bridal showcase is back in 2013 and this time is popping up in Toowoomba. Creative inspiration for weddings, showers, engagements parties and all of those milestone celebrations in life will be in abundance at the showcase and, of course, I’ll be there with some gorgeous handmade favour designs for your wedding. I also have 2 tickets to the fair to give away…so stay tuned for more giveaway details coming very shortly!

Hope to see all you vintage and handmade-loving Toowoomba brides there!

Sunday afternoon musings…

First things first, I am head over heels in love with my new blog design* and am so excited to share it with you all! Isn’t it just gorgeous?

Having a gorgeous blog makes me love my little business even more, and I really love what I do. But as anyone who has ever had their own business will know, it’s no picnic…a whole lot of passion, hard work and determination is needed to not only get a business off the ground but to build it each day. One of my favourite quotes is ‘nothing worth doing is ever easy’ and this is especially true for anyone who has tried to turn their passion into a profitable business! I often have to remind myself of this, and repeat this quote over in my head if I’m having a not so good day. But you know what? It’s all completely worth it when you create something that is truly your own and you are doing what you love. So today I’m giving a virtual high five to everyone out there pursuing their dreams, doing what they love and doing what makes them come alive!

My Darling Heart’s shopfront on Etsy

I am as pleased as punch to let you know that our shopfront is officially open and ready for business! I sell my lovely vintage inspired wedding wares on Etsy – why not visit and take a look around?

Currently in the shop are several of my favour designs from the Some Enchanted Evening range, and very soon the entire range will be available in the shop. All designs can be altered to suit the unique style of your wedding day and our boxes and bags can be filled with a large range of delightful sweet treats – from sugar cookies and French macarons to popcorn and rock candy – to more traditional fillers like heart chocolates and sugared almonds. My Darling Heart is dedicated to creating the perfect favour for your wedding!

I am currently working awfully hard on the second range, Oranges & Lemons, to be released in August – so stay tuned for more loveliness!
