{style story} pastel 50’s wedding

1950’s party dresses, pink lemonade, rosebud cupcakes and dance halls – I was so delighted to be involved in this inspiration-filled pastel styled shoot with some lovely Brisbane wedding vendors recently. The style story was featured on Polka Dot Bride … Continue reading

{wedding favour inspiration} vintage-style handkerchiefs

I love the idea of giving vintage-style handkerchiefs as wedding favours, and if you want to add a few vintage-inspired details into your wedding but don’t want to go overboard then these little hankies are perfect and oh so sweet. I’ve been playing around with some favour designs which incorporate¬† handkerchiefs and this is my favourite. It’s a two-fold gift for your wedding guests, as they get a box of sweet treats as well as a pretty vintage-style hankie – a lovely keepsake to remind them of your wedding day.

{inspired event} The Vintage and Handmade Bridal Showcase

Good morning lovelies! Are you all having a good week? You may have heard about an exciting new event for Brisbane brides that I’m going to be a part of in August – The Vintage and Handmade Bridal Showcase, and I’m going to tell you all of the juicy details!

The showcase is the creation of Melanie from Silver Sixpence & Kim from Hermia’s Wishes – both supremely talented (& nice to boot!) ladies who have a passion for all things vintage, creative, well-designed & offbeat when it comes to weddings. In the words of the ladies themselves, the showcase will be an ‘evening of fashion and fabulousness, with many vendors under the one roof to share with you plenty of inspiration for planning your very own vintage/handmade/rustic wedding.’

Are you getting excited yet?!

As if the showcase wasn’t enough, they will also be offering a program of workshops especially for the DIY-bride who wants to get all the fabulous insider tips and tricks on putting together amazing creative details for their wedding. My Darling Heart will be offering a workshop on how to create beautiful vintage-inspired DIY favours for your guests (now I know you’re definitely excited about that!).

My new favour range, Oranges & Lemons, will also be officially launching on the night of the showcase and I’ll be sharing a special code with those who attend that will get you 10% off the range when you purchase through my Etsy shop. I will also be offering a prize to one very lucky bride on the night – a voucher for $250.00 towards anything in our shop! You could use the voucher towards favours for your wedding or bridal shower, or handmade decorations!

Make sure you stay tuned to The Vintage and Handmade Bride’s blog and facebook page to get all the goss on the wonderfully creative vendors who will be exhibiting at the showcase, and all of the fantastic prizes that will also be on offer on the night.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Ship Inn on 12 August!

My Darling Heart is here!

Hello friends! I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be here writing the very first blog post for My Darling Heart! I’ve always been someone who thinks that giving truly beautiful & thoughtful presents to the people that you love is very important, and the ultimate occasion to thank the ones you love for a lifetime of support, encouragement and for making you who you are is your wedding day. When couples are planning their day it doesn’t take long to find out that there are quite limited options for truly gorgeous wedding favours available in Australia! With this in mind My Darling Heart was born – our emphasis is on creating original designs and is also, above all, on handmade. We are dedicated to creating beautifully bespoke wedding favours for couples who believe that thanking their guests in style is one of the most important parts of the day. You won’t find any mass-produced items here – our favours are made to order so that you can be sure that each has been individually crafted to perfection for your guests.
